We Are Rhythm
Rhythm is variation in a pattern
From spring 2020 to summer 2021, more than 100 artists and scientists worked together to find out what value we need to coexist with each other and the earth and all the different forms of life around us in a time of climate crisis that also has huge social consequences. These scientists and artists did not know each other and usually could not meet with each other in person because of covid19. It turns out that finding a rhythm in interaction has been of great importance for the trust that developed.
Rhythm is variation in a pattern. Rhythm is not mechanical, there is space in rhythm. And rhythm is everywhere; within ourselves, between us, and around us.
Here you will find the results in various forms of this research. The research program was titled Values for Survival and was part of the Dutch contribution to the 17th Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 2020-2021. The awarding authority for the Dutch contribution is the Nieuwe Instituut, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
